Macon is an arts and entertainment center. Attractions include The Grand Opera House, a venue for Broadway productions, as well as a wealth of community theaters and museums. The Georgia Sports Hall of Fame, also in Macon, is the largest state sports hall of fame in the United States. Sports legeneds honored include Hank Aaron, Alice Coachman Davis, John Heisman, Bobby Jones, Nancy Lopez, John Smoltz and Herschel Walker. Sons of Macon include music legends Otis Redding, Little Richard and the Allman Brothers, as well as poet Sydney Lanier.
