Florida Space Coast is the section of Florida's Atlantic coast that centers around Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. This region of Florida includes the cities of Cape Canaveral, Cocoa, Cocoa Beach, Melbourne, Merritt Island, Palm Bay, Rockledge, and Titusville. The region is filled with streets, parks, schools and landmarks named for the space program, and astronauts.
In addition to the Space program, Florida Space Coast is a resort area known for its beaches. Cape Canaveral features beach property named for US Presidents. Cocoa Beach features an annual Easter Surfing Festival and is the home of the East Coast Surfing Hall of Fame. The region also features a cruise port at Port Canaveral.
Melbourne, the principal city on the Space Coast, is the location of the region's airport (MLB). The Orlando airport (MCO) is also an option for air transportation to and from the region.
